Governor Ron DeSantis
On May 19, 2021, a certified registered letter was sent to Governor Ron DeSantis requesting a special prosecutor be appointed to investigate members of FDLE including the Commissioner for their role in the cover-up of Murray Cohen’s murder. Pro-Death Governor DeSantis did not even have the decency to acknowledge a letter from a Florida family pleading for justice.
Senator Marco Rubio
In June of 2019, Murray Cohen’s son who is a constituent of Marco Rubio requested his assistance to bring justice and closure to his Florida family He filled out a constituent request form and was given a case number and a case worker. After waiting six months for a reply, he contacted Rubio’s office and was told his case worker would get back to him and no one ever did. On the one year anniversary of his request, he called again. Once again, he was told he would get a call back. To this day, no one from Marco Rubio’s office never called him back. Senator Marco Rubio has failed Murray Cohen’s Florida family.
Former Florida Governor Rick Scott
Governor Scott never responded to an Attorney letter requesting his assistance and turned a deaf ear to a Florida family’s plea for justice. (See Letter)

Governor Charlie Crist never responded to an Attorney letter requesting his assistance and turned a deaf ear to a Florida family’s plea for justice. (See Letter).
Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush
Jeb Bush was the Governor of Florida at the time of Murray Cohen’s murder. He refused numerous requests from Murray Cohen’s family to appoint a special prosecutor and order a full blown investigation into his demise. After Fox 13 of Tampa ran a news broadcast about Murray Cohen’s death and sent a copy to Bush’s office, Bush was then forced to make a decision allow justice to be served for a Florida family or order a white wash to protect members of the Sarasota Sheriff’s office who perpetrated a murder cover-up. Bush chose to protect the corrupt cops.
